Dr. Schubert provides motivation and accountability as the nutrition coach, but you get to discover who you are, define your goals, and dream the big dreams.

In our nutrition education services for individual athletes, you meet with a nationally credentialed sports dietitian, Dr. Laurie Schubert.  She assesses your current practices and needs and provides education and information.  Together, you come up with a plan for improving your nutrition and tracking that implementation. 

  • Get unstuck! Choose goals that resonate with you.
  • Get past that lack of motivation or self-confidence. Get past the overwhelm.
  • Build new or healthier habits to become a more successful, better-prepared athlete and person.

Dr. Schubert requires a minimum of three months of subscription services to develop goals, work through problems, and realize breakthroughs. This service is renewable.

Topics covered can include:

  • What and when to eat for day-to-day training
  • What and how to eat on competition days
  • Hydration needs and sweat tests
  • Body composition change
  • Sample menus
  • Dietary supplement guidelines and safety resources
  • Nutrition tips for travel
  • Guidance on exercising with a medical condition or medications
  • A series of appointments to address gastrointestinal issues

Nutrition HeartBeat also offers subscription coaching services on athlete support skills like menu planning, shopping, cooking, scheduling, organizing, planning ahead, self-care, and mindful eating, as well as thoughts and feelings around food intake and a healthy body image.

  • One-on-one bi-monthly nutrition strategy sessions of 30 minutes to solve problems and discuss upcoming training or competitions – in person, phone, or video chat
  • Initial session for education and preliminary nutrition goals
  • Dietary analysis completed monthly or with significant changes in training
  • Sample menus for representative training days
  • Supplement analysis, with discussion on future supplement plans as they arise
  • Nutrition coaching for problem-solving, inspiration, and accountability
  • In-between meeting email support
  • Additional resources are provided as needed for specific goals

  • No maximum limit; ongoing nutrition coaching clients welcomed
  • 3-month minimum for improving overall nutrition and education, health coaching as a specific service, and making weight
  • 4-month minimum for race day planning or hydration needs assessments

Elite Athlete Nutrition Coaching Subscription* 

BEST FOR: Elite, experienced athletes striving for the next level who already have a supportive team of coaches and trainers but need bespoke performance nutrition guidance and coaching. Appropriate for athletes with a Training Peaks subscription OR programmed workouts from a coach provided in advance weekly or monthly.

  • One-on-one weekly nutrition strategy sessions of 30 minutes to discuss upcoming training or competitions – in person, phone, or video chat
  • Initial session for education and preliminary nutrition goals
  • Weekly crafted recommendations for calories and macros around training as shown in Training Peaks IF monthly training plans are available in advance OR sample menus provided.
  • Recommendations that accommodate your specific needs and enhance your performance based on your medical and nutrition history, as well as a comprehensive discussion on your training and performance goals
  • Dietary analysis completed monthly or with significant changes in training
  • Supplement analysis, with discussion on future supplement plans as they arise
  • In-between meeting email support
  • Additional resources are provided as needed for specific goals
